Happiness starts at £34,000

A July 2022 Institute of Economic Affairs survey found that most in the UK don’t want to be ‘Rich’. Just 19% think it’s important. In fact, 2020 ONS and Happy Planet Index researchers calculated that happiness starts at circa £34,000.

2020 research found that many in the UK swerve money chats due to shame (18%) and because “it’s not how I was brought up” (15%). This needs to be addressed yesterday … it’s not like money’s a factor in almost every life decision, is it?
